Teeth Whitening

If your teeth have stains from coffee, colorful foods, or tobacco use, you might consider teeth whitening to brighten up your smile. At Bright Dental, we offer both in-office and take-home options for the convenience of our patients.

In-Office Teeth Whitening

For fast results, many patients choose to have their teeth whitened in our Milwaukee dental office. The procedure can brighten your teeth by up to eight shades in one visit.

First, we will place a barrier material on your gums to keep the whitening gel from making contact with your gum tissue, which can cause discomfort or sensitivity.

Next, we apply professional strength whitening gel on your teeth for about twenty minutes. We will repeat the process two more times to achieve maximum results. To keep your teeth looking their best, you may continue the process at home with custom teeth whitening trays that we create in our office.

Take-Home Teeth Whitening

For our patients who prefer take-home whitening, we will take an impression of your teeth to create whitening trays that you wear at home, at your convenience. We will also send you home with enough whitening gel to get the job done.

Wear your take-home whitening trays as directed by your dentist to achieve the best results. Be sure to use only a small amount of whitening gel for each tooth to prevent leakage. Following the directions precisely will help prevent sensitivity.

Keep your whitening trays so that you can touch up your teeth later, if needed. If you need more gel in the future, just stop by! We offer it in our dental office. Our take-home whitening system will make it easy for you to keep your teeth white for a lifetime.

How to Keep Your Smile Bright

It is common knowledge that coffee and tobacco stain your teeth, but other brightly colored foods and drinks can also have an impact. If you enjoy vibrant curry dishes, beets, dark berries, red wines, sodas, and tea, brushing your teeth after you consume them can help prevent the pigments in these foods and beverages from staining your teeth.

Fortunately, you can keep your teeth looking great with professional teeth whitening without having to avoid your favorite foods or drinks.

The Best Time to Whiten Your Teeth

A dental cleaning can remove all traces of tartar from your teeth and make your teeth whitening more effective. Dental polishing also removes some surface stains, giving you a head start to a whiter smile.

If you have restorative work, such as fillings, crowns, or veneers planned, you may wish to whiten your teeth first for the best results.
